Typical swarm locations
Collectors in Letchworth regularly attend swarms in the lime avenues of Leys Avenue and Broadway, in the mature garden trees and shrub borders of the Edwardian residential streets around the town centre, on Norton Common's hawthorn and elder scrub margins, and in the chimney stacks and roof eaves of the Arts and Crafts houses whose deep eaves and panelled gables are particularly attractive to scout bees.
