Alvechurch is a large village on the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal between Redditch and Birmingham, with an attractive brick and timber-frame centre and a strong boating community. Canal-side hawthorn, willow and meadowsweet line the towpath above and below the village; the surrounding farmland carries white clover and field beans, and the cottage gardens run to long-established apple, plum and damson trees that are productive foraging for local bees.
Collectors respond to swarms in the canal-side hawthorn and elder along the towpath between Scarfield Wharf and the Shortwood tunnel mouth, in the mature garden trees of School Lane and Bear Hill, and in boathouses, meter boxes and shed eaves along the canal margin.

The Vale of Evesham opens the year with apple, pear, plum and the last surviving commercial asparagus flowers. Oilseed rape fills the middle fields; hawthorn and sycamore line the lanes. Lime dominates the June streetscape of Worcester, Malvern and Kidderminster. The Malvern Hills bring limestone grassland herbs and a small late-summer heather supplement on the upper slopes; bramble is universal. The tail of the year still carries some traditional hop-garden forage around Bromsgrove, and ivy on the old black-and-white villages closes the season.
