Long Sutton is a fenland market town in the South Holland district of Lincolnshire, set among the deep-drained arable fields and dyke networks of the Wash hinterland. The Boston BKA is the nearest association for collectors here. Oilseed rape covers enormous areas of the surrounding fen in April and May, producing a fast, heavy flow; spring field beans add a musky alternative; the old orchards and hedged gardens of the market town provide hawthorn, sycamore and apple blossom in sequence; and phacelia and borage are grown by some fenland farmers as summer pollen supplements. Bramble persists on the neglected drove-road embankments.
Local collectors respond to swarms in the mature lime and sycamore of the market place and Church Street conservation area, in the old garden hedges and sheds of the residential streets running off Wignall Street and London Road, along the drove-road embankment hawthorn and elder scrub on the fen margins, and in the loft spaces and roof voids of the older brick-built properties of the town centre.

Oilseed rape is the defining early Lincolnshire flow, enormous in scale across the Fens and Wolds. Field beans, hawthorn and blackthorn carry the hedgerows. Lime and sweet chestnut line the Georgian streets of Lincoln, Stamford and Boston. Bramble is universal, and rosebay willowherb flushes disused airfields and dismantled rail corridors. The Lincolnshire Wolds, though not high, carry sainfoin and chalk grassland herbs. Coastal buckthorn at Gibraltar Point and ivy in the Wolds villages finish a long year.
