Kinmel Bay — Bae Cinmel — is a coastal settlement at the eastern end of Conwy county, merging with Towyn to form a long stretch of seafront development north of Abergele. The wide beach and the dune-backed coastal strip provide broom, sea holly, and marram supplementing the garden forage of the largely residential settlement. The Elwy and Clwyd river valleys are accessible to the east and provide the broader agricultural forage of the coastal plain. The area is well-served by the Conwy BKA.
Collectors cover swarms in the residential gardens and beach-front properties of Kinmel Bay and Towyn, on the dune and foreshore scrub along the seafront, in the hedgerow and field margins on the farmland lanes toward Abergele and the Clwyd plain, and in the eaves and cavity walls of the bungalows and residential properties throughout the settlement.

Hawthorn and blackthorn fill the old enclosure hedges of the Conwy valley and the coastal plain. Sycamore is abundant on every sheltered valley slope and lane. The defining late-summer flow comes from ling heather on the Mynydd Hiraethog, Tal-y-Fan, and Bwlch-y-Ddeufaen moorlands — still worked commercially by some beekeepers who migrate hives from the coast in August. Lime lines the Victorian promenades of Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, and Abergele through June. Bramble is prolific along disused railway trackbeds, forestry margins, and the Conwy valley flood-plain hedgerows. Gorse provides an early-spring supplement on the upland commons above Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan.
