St Fagans is a historic village and National Museum of History of Wales site in west Cardiff, where a castle, ornamental gardens and a living collection of reconstructed Welsh buildings sit within fifty acres of parkland and traditional orchard. The museum's traditional orchards, hay meadows, herb gardens and reconstructed historic beehives make this one of the most bee-significant sites in Wales. The River Ely passes below the castle walls; hawthorn hedgerows on the surrounding agricultural land are dense; and the parkland lime trees give a classic June flow.
Collectors attend swarms in the National Museum parkland orchard and the castle walled garden, along the River Ely banks and their willowherb, meadowsweet and bramble margins, on the stone walls and eaves of the historic village properties along The Green and Greenwood Lane, in the hawthorn and sycamore hedgerows of the surrounding farmland, and in the museum's hay meadow wildflower planting.

Early flows come from cherry plum and blackthorn in Bute and Roath parks. Sycamore and horse chestnut fill May; the lime collection in Bute Park is one of the largest in any UK city, giving a classic pale urban lime honey in June. Bramble is dense along the Taff Trail; rosebay willowherb flushes the former dock brownfield of Cardiff Bay. Coastal sea-lavender and samphire at Rhymney Great Wharf add a distinctive saline note; ivy on Victorian terraces closes the year.
