Typical swarm locations
Collectors attend swarms in the churchyard limes and flowering sycamores of St Michael's, on the stone garden walls and eaves of the older village properties along Forge Road and Church Road, along the Nant Machen and Rhymney riverside paths and their elder and bramble margins, in the orchard and kitchen garden trees on the village fringe, and in the gorse and bilberry scrub on the Mynydd Machen moorland slopes.
